Orthopedic Surgeon of the Upper Arm and Hand

Dr. Dale Cassidy is a fellowship-trained, board-certified orthopedic surgeon focused on treating conditions of the upper arm and hand. Originally from Pennsylvania, Dr. Cassidy spent his summers fishing in Montana with his father and grandfather, where he fell in love with the rugged mountains of the West. He completed his undergraduate studies as well as an MBA at the University of Colorado at Boulder, with an emphasis in entrepreneurship and finance, before switching gears to attend medical school.
After graduating from the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Aurora, Dr. Cassidy completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, followed by a fellowship in orthopedic trauma at Rhode Island Hospital, an affiliate of Brown University. Dr. Cassidy also completed a fellowship in hand, upper extremity surgery and micro-vascular surgery at the University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt Lake City.

Dr. Cassidy’s additional training makes him extraordinarily well qualified to render care for traumatic injuries as well as chronic and degenerative disorders of the hand and upper arm. He is a member of several highly respected medical organizations including the Orthopaedic Trauma Association, American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Association of Hand Surgery, and El Paso County Medical Society.
Dr. Cassidy insists on providing high value, comprehensive hand and upper extremity care. He strongly believes that care should be centered around the patient and targeted to bring the best outcomes with the most conservative approach possible.
A pioneer in “wide-awake surgery,” Dr. Cassidy minimizes patient exposure to anesthesia in order to optimize patient recovery time, while still providing completely comfortable care.
Dr. Cassidy joined Colorado Springs Orthopaedic Group in late 2016. He feels deeply honored to be associated with a group of outstanding physicians who have long mentored and guided him in his career.
Dr. Cassidy is proud to offer patients the value-driven, patient-centered care they deserve. He takes great pride in help patients understand their medical conditions and treatment options. He is an avid outdoorsman, enjoying an active life with his family, both in the community and in the great outdoors.
